세종시교육청이 30억 원을 투자해 세종시 관내 167개 모든 학교에 대한 내진 보강사업을 완료했다고 16일 밝혔다.
교육시설 내진 보강 사업은 ‘지진화산재해대책법’에 따라 지진 발생 시 피해를 볼 우려가 있는 학교시설에 대해 내진설계와 내진 보강공사를 실시하여 지진에 대비하도록 하는 것이다.
내진 확보 대상 학교 시설물은 교사, 체육관, 기숙사, 급식시설, 강당 등 학생의 교육 활동에 활용되는 시설이다.
내진 보강사업은 체계적인 단계별 절차를 거쳐 이루어진다.
우선, 내진성능 평가 전문업체가 내진설계 미비 학교에 대한 내진성능 여부를 지침에 따라 판별한다.
이후, 내진성능 평가 결과, 내진성능이 미비한 학교는 내진 보강설계 후 보강공사를 단계별로 실시하여 내진 보강사업을 완료한다.
