세종시의회가 20일 제89회 정례회를 개회했다.
세종시의회는 이날 제1차 본회의를 시작으로 내달 21일까지 33일간 회기를 진행한다고 밝혔다.
이순열 의장은 본회의 개회사에서 “세종지방법원 설치 법안의 국회 법제사법위원회 법안소위 통과와 관련하여 환영의 뜻을 밝히며 지방법원과 더불어 행정법원까지 세종시 내에 설치되도록 의회 차원의 움직임을 멈추지 않겠다”고 말했다.
이어 이 의장은 “전국적인 세수 감소로 세종시의 재정 상황 또한 녹록지 않은 만큼 행정사무감사를 통해 세종시민들의 피와 땀으로 이루어진 소중한 예산이 적재적소에 쓰이고 있는지 면밀히 살피겠다”는 의지를 피력했다.
이날 열린 제1차 본회의에서는 박란희·김현옥·임채성·상병헌·김동빈 의원 등 총 5명의 의원이 5분 자유발언을 통해 정책 방향을 제시했다.
아울러 긴급현안질문을 통해 김학서 의원은 균형발전 및 정주 여건 향상을 위한 교육, 일자리, 산업 연계 발전 방안을 제언하였으며, 김현미 의원은 세종시 보통교부세 증대 방안과 성과목표 달성을 위한 성과지표 개선책에 대해 질문한 후 재정 운용과 회계 관리를 철저히 할 것을 주문했다.
또한, 세종시청과 세종시 교육청의 주요업무 상반기 추진실적 및 하반기 추진계획을 청취하는 등 총 10건의 안건을 처리했다.
한편, 세종시의회는 내달 21일 제2차 본회의를 열어 2023회계연도 결산을 승인하고, 조례안과 2024년도 제1회 세종특별자치시 교육비특별회계 세입·세출 추가경정예산안 등을 처리할 계획이다.
