강준만 교수(존칭 생략)의 칼럼 제목이다. 그는 한동훈에 애정이 있는 거 같다. 한동훈 왜 아직까지 강준만 교수를 찾아가지 않았을까...왜 그랬을까...내가 한동훈에게 묻고 싶은 건 그거다. 한동훈은 이제라도 강준만 교수를 찾아가 자문을 구하길 권한다.
강준만 교수는 썩어빠진 대한민국 강단에서 가장 교수다운 교수다. 난 그의 실천 정신을 매우 높게 평가한다. 그리고 그는 객관적이다. 감정에 따라 정치적 이해관계에 따라 말을 바꾸는 야바위 짓은 하지 않는다.
난 그가 학생들에게 매우 친절한 교수로도 유명하다. 권위의식도 없고 깜짝 놀랄만큼 매우 합리적인 품성이다.
그는 나를 모른다. 나는 그를 안다. 어쨌건...한동훈은 왜 그랬을까? 강 교수의 질문이다. 그의 칼럼에서 내려지는 결론은 한동훈은 '무죄'라는 것이다. 강교수가 지적하듯 한동훈은 윤석열과 '치킨게임(어느 한 쪽이 양보하지 않을 경우 양쪽이 모두 파국으로 치닫게 되는 극단적인 게임이론)'을 벌일 형편이 되지 못했다. 많은 이들이 착각하는데 '치킨 게임'엔 내쉬 균형이 존재한다. 그 균형은 '정면충돌'이 아니다. 어느 한 쪽이 피하는 것이다.
두 경기자가 합리적이라는 전제가 있으면 그렇게 어느 한 쪽이 피하는 게 균형이고 그 게임을 지켜보는 이들이 합리적이라면 그들 또한 그렇게 균형이 실현되리라고 예측할 수 있다.
수학적으로 그렇다. 게임이론은 수학이다. 사람의 감정이 아니다. 강 교수가 분석과는 다르게...윤석열과 한동훈은 치킨 게임을 벌였고 그 둘 간의 치킨 게임에서 한동훈이 피한 것으로 파악할 수 있다. 즉, 그게 내시(내시 균형=Nash equilibrium=은 게임 이론에서 경쟁자 대응에 따라 최선의 선택을 하면 서로가 자신의 선택을 바꾸지 않는 균형상태) 균형이었다. 그게 중요하다. 따라서 문제의 초점은 이것이다. 왜 치킨 게임을 벌이지 않았느냐가 아니고 그 치킨 게임에서 왜 윤석열이 아니라 한동훈이 피하는 식으로 내시 균형이 실현되었느냐 이거다.
다양한 해석이 가능하겠지만...내가 볼 때는 한동훈이 윤석열에 대해 너무나 잘 알고 있기 때문에 한동훈이 피했던 것으로 보인다. 싱겁지만 이런 거다. 윤석열이 절대 피할 이가 아니라는 걸 알기에 또는 윤석열이 피할 수 있는 형편이 전혀 아니라는 걸 한동훈이 너무나 잘 알고 있기에 한동훈이 피했다는 것이다. '치킨 게임'의 승자는 상대에게 양보를 강요할 수 있는 쪽이다. 한동훈은 윤서열에게 양보를 강요할 수 없었다. 한동훈이 양보하고 그 정면충돌에서 비켜 선 건 그가 무능해서도 아니고 헤아림이 부족해서도 아니고 정치 철학이 부족해서도 아니었다. 역설적이게도 한동훈은 그게 '치킨 게임'이라는 걸 너무나 잘 인식하고 있었기 때문이다.
'치킨 게임'에서 어느 한 쪽이 피하지 않고 한 방향을 서로 고집하면 결국 양쪽 모두에게 재앙이 돌아간다. 게임이론에서 '치킨 게임'은 기(氣) 싸움이 아닌 것이다. 수(數) 싸움이라고 볼 수 있는데 유일한 '수(數)'는 더 세게 나가 상대에게 양보를 강요하는 것이다. 한동훈은 그럴 형편이 되지 못했다. 선거라는 게임을 놓고 보면 미래는 한동훈이다.
권력 거간꾼들처럼 뜨는 별 지는 별을 말하는 게 아니다. 전략을 찾자는 것이다. 이대로 가면 한국의 보수는 공멸이다. 보수가 공멸된 상태에서 한국 정치의 미래는 없다. 한동훈이 보여줄 건 신념과 콘텐츠다. 그리고 엘리트 정치 철폐다. 민주정치는 본래 무산계층을 위한 것이다. 하지만 포퓰리즘은 아니다. 무산계층을 위해서 열심히 일하고 땀 흘려 노력한만큼 가져갈 수 있는 시스템 공정한 시장을 만들어주는 것이다.
분명히 말하지만 한동훈은 포퓰리즘에 편승하면 망한다. 이유는 쉽다. 첫째 포퓰리즘은 틀렸다. 둘째 포퓰리즘으로 좌파 선동꾼들과 경쟁이 안 된다. 다음은 강준만 교수가 쓴 칼럼의 맨 마지막 부분이다. 결론일 것 같다.
"윤석열의 정치행태에 동의하지 않았는데도 나중에 윤석열에게 가해질 게 분명한 정치보복을 그의 측근이었다는 이유만으로 똑같이 당해야 하나? 벌써부터 ‘한동훈 특검’을 외쳐대는 저 특검중독자들에게 당하느니 지금 뭐라도 바꿔 보려고 몸부림치는 게 더 낫지 않은가? 한동훈이 왜 그랬는지 영 이해가 되지를 않아 해본 생각이다."
강준만 교수가 한동훈 정치에 기대하는 게 느껴진다. 그가 지적하는 '특검중독자'들은 부패 기득권자들이자 굳건한 끼리끼리 네트워크를 구축하고 있는 이들일 것이다. 한동훈은 이제라도 강준만 교수 식의 '실용정치' '생활정치' 등에 초점을 맞춰야 한다. 그리고 무엇보다 부패 카르텔을 해체하고 끼리끼리 네트워크를 분쇄하는데 비전을 보여야 할 것이다. yslee1992@kunsan.ac.kr

When it comes to the game of elections, the future is Han Dong-hoon.
I am not talking about a rising star or a falling star like the power brokers. The idea is to find a strategy. If things continue like this, Korea's conservatives will be destroyed. There is no future for Korean politics with conservatives decimated. What Dong-Hoon Han will show is belief and content. And the abolition of elite politics. Democratic politics is originally for the proletariat. But it is not populism. It is to create a system and fair market for the proletariat, where they can earn as much as they work hard and sweat for.
To put it clearly, Han Dong-hoon will fail if he takes the bandwagon of populism. The reason is easy. First, populism is wrong. Second, populism cannot compete with leftist demagogues. The following is the last part of the column written by Professor Junman Kang. I think that's the conclusion.
"Even though I did not agree with Yoon Seok-yeol's political behavior, should I still suffer the same political retaliation that is sure to be inflicted on Yoon Seok-yeol later just because I was his close associate?
