브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 기아는 지난 21일부터 23일까지 JW 메리어트 호텔(서울 서초구 소재)과 기아 오산교육센터(경기 용인시 소재) 등에서 ‘제11회 기아 스킬 월드컵’을 진행했다고 24일 밝혔다.
스킬 월드컵은 기아가 해외 우수 정비사를 발굴하고 정비 기술력을 향상시키기 위해 개최하는 글로벌 정비 기술 경진대회로 2002년 첫 대회를 시작으로 2년마다 열리고 있다.
올해 스킬 월드컵은 코로나19 팬데믹 상황으로 인해 2018년 이후 6년만에 오프라인으로 진행됐다.
이번 스킬 월드컵에는 40개국에서 42명의 정비사가 참가해 정비 이론 필기시험과 차량 및 단품 종합평가 실기 시험으로 정비 기술력을 겨뤘다.
기아는 이들이 최상의 컨디션을 유지해 역량을 발휘할 수 있도록 아로마 테라피, 명상 체험 등 리프레쉬 프로그램과 Kia360 견학, 경복궁 및 인사동 투어 등 한국 문화 체험 기회도 마련했다.
이번 스킬 월드컵에서는 인도의 산치트 쿠마루 강가마키 산타쿠말이 총점 630점을 획득해 금상을 수상하는 영예를 안았다
산치트 쿠마루에 이어 호주의 사무엘 로베르트 니콜스, 콜롬비아의 디에고 알론소 만리께 올띠즈가 은상, 중국의 구오 쥬 핑, 덴마크의 키리스 아빌드갈드, 벨기에의 마이클 에이만스가 동상을 받았다.
이들에게는 트로피, 메달과 금상 5000달러, 은상 3000달러, 동상 2000달러의 상금이 부상으로 전달됐다.
장려상 수상자 6명은 상패와 상금 500달러를 수여받았다.
기아 관계자는 “전세계에서 활약하는 우수한 기아 정비사들의 참여로 이번 대회를 성황리에 마쳤다”며 “기아는 더 나은 고객 서비스 제공을 위해 앞으로도 노력할 것이다”고 말했다.
