충남 태안 천리포수목원이 밀러가든에서 모항초등학교 학생들과 전통 방식의 손 모내기 체험행사를 진행했다고 27일 밝혔다.
전통 농업의 소중함을 알리고 태안 주민과의 화합의 장을 마련하기 위해 열린 이번 손 모내기 행사에는 태안 모항초등학교 학생 28명 및 교직원, 천리포수목원 직원 및 수목원전문가 교육과정 교육생을 포함해 80여 명이 참여했다.
천리포수목원은 올해 오리를 이용한 친환경 자연재배농법을 기념하여 어미 오리와 새끼 오리의 모습으로 논을 디자인했다.
오리(DUCK)의 한국어 발음인 ‘덕’은 ‘좋은 결과를 얻을 수 있는 원인’을 뜻하는데, 서로가 덕을 받고 덕을 베풀며 살자는 의미를 담았다.
