[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 경남도 내 18개 시군을 대상으로 한 ‘2024년 산불예방·대응 시군 평가’에서 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다고 20일 밝혔다.
경남도에서 실시한 이번 평가는 산불예방, 산불홍보, 산불대응, 산불방지 특색사업 및 협력도 등 4개 분야 9개 세부지표를 대상으로 진행해 진주시가 최우수 기관으로 선정됐다.
시는 산불예방 및 대응을 위해 산불전문예방진화대 등 산불방지인력 175명을 산불취약지에 배치, 불법소각 및 산불 실화자에 대해 과태료 부과 및 사법처리로 산불에 대한 경각심을 일깨웠다.
또 시는 산불방지 특색사업으로 주요 10대 산에 대해 산불진화전략도를 작성해 산불대응 태세를 확립, 읍면동 주민단체 등 4300여 명이 참여하는 산불예방 릴레이 캠페인을 실시해 범시민적 공감대를 형성했다.
진주시 관계자는 “산불조심기간 외에도 연중 일상 속 산불예방이 될 수 있도록 시민들의 협조를 부탁드린다”며 “산불대응 체계 확립 등 산불방지를 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
