경주 양북ㆍ안강시장 현대화 사업 완료

【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시가 전통시장 시설 현대화의 일환으로 2억 5000만원을 들여 안강시장 아케이드 보수와 양북시장 비가림시설 설치 공사를 완료했다고 26일 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 안강시장 아케이드는 지난 2009년 조성 이후 날씨에 구애받지 않고 고객들이 시장을 이용할 수 있도록 편의시설로 기능을 해 왔지만 노후 되고 비가 새는 등 전면 보수가 불가피해졌다.

이에 1억 원의 예산들 투입해 아케이드 보수를 비롯해 물받이 청소 작업을 함께 진행했다.

앞서 안강시장은 비둘기로 인해 불편을 겪어 지난해는 비둘기 방조망 설치 공사를 통해 민원을 해결했다.

양북시장은 2020년 바가림시설 공사 후 일부 미설치 구간에 1억 5000만원 예산을 투입해 난전 상부 비가림 설치 공사를 실시했다.

시장 이용객에게는 쾌적한 환경을 제공함은 물론 시장 상인들은 날씨에 영향을 받지 않고 영업을 할 수 있게 돼 침체된 지역경제에 활력을 불어넣을 것으로 기대된다.

황훈 경제정책과장은 “앞으로도 지속적인 시설현대화 사업을 통해 지역 전통시장의 경쟁력 향상을 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
