오는 2027년에 열리는 충청권 하계 세계대학경기대회 진행 상황과 시설 등을 점검할 국제대학스포츠연맹(FISU) 회장단이 7일 방한했다.
충청권 하계세계대학경기대회 조직위원회에 따르면 이들은 9일까지 조직위로부터 대회 준비 추진현황을 보고받고 주요 대회 시설 등을 점검할 계획이다
7일에 폐막식장과 주 선수촌 예정지, 세종 실내 체육관 부지 등 현장 실사를 진행하고 8일에는 조직위 사무실에서 조직위원회 모든 기능영역에 대한 대회 준비 상황을 점검할 것으로 알려졌다.
9일에는 보령을 방문해서 비치발리볼 경기장과 제2선수촌 실사를 진행하고 지난 11월 선출된 FISU 신임 회장 레온즈 에더(Leonz EDER)와 충청권 4개 시·도지사들과 함께하는 자리를 통해 2027 충청권 하계 세계대학경기대회의 성공개최를 위한 결속을 다지는 시간도 가질 예정이다.
한편, 2027 충청권 하계세계대학경기대회는 2027년 8월 1일부터 12일까지 12일간 4개 시도(대전, 세종, 충북, 충남) 일원에서 개최되며, 전 세계 150여 개국 18세~25세 대학생 1만 5,000여 명이 참가해 총 18개 종목으로 진행될 예정이다.
