[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 7월부터 (재)김해문화재단을 (재)김해문화관광재단으로 개편해 새롭게 출발한다고 밝혔다.
시는 (재)김해문화재단 내 관광사업본부가 기존 관광업무인 가야테마파크, 레일파크 등 관내 주요 관광시설 운영에 한정되어 있어 다소 미흡한 부분이 있어 개편하게 됐다고 밝혔다.
이에 김해문화관광재단 개편으로 관광에 대한 전문성 강화, 정책의 연속을 통한 관광사업의 효율적 추진, 지역 관광 조직을 체계적으로 육성하고 재단 내 문화관광 자원의 효율성과 효과성을 증대한다.
김해시는 개편을 위해 지난 5월 관련 조례에 이어 6월에는 재단 정관, 관련 규정을 개정했다.
이와함께 7월 중 시 문화관광국과 문화관광재단 직원 간 워크샵을 통해 문화관광재단의 정체성 확보와 발전 방향을 모색하기로 했다.
김해문화관광재단은 김해시의 관광정책에 부응하고 지역문화관광산업 진흥을 위해 다양한 문화·관광 융·복합 콘텐츠 발굴, 관광지 이미지 구축, 문화와 관광의 컨트롤 타워 역할 으로 지역 문화·관광 발전을 견인한다.
홍태용 시장은 “김해문화관광재단의 출범으로 우리 시가 갖고 있는 문화적 자산을 관광과 융합한 킬러콘텐츠 발굴하고 지역 관광자원 인지도를 높여 지역 관광경쟁력을 강화하는 한편 관광을 통한 문화, 축제를 발굴해 ‘명품문화관광도시 김해’를 만들 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
