윤석열 대통령과 기시다 후미오 일본 총리가 10일(현지 시간) 미국 워싱턴DC 나토(NATO·북대서양조약기구) 정상회의 참석을 계기로 양자 회담을 갖고 러·북 군사협력 대응 차원의 한·일 양국과 나토 간 긴밀한 공조를 강조했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 미국 워싱턴DC 윌라드 호텔에서 기시다 총리와 정상회담을 가진 가운데 지난 5월 한·중·일 정상회의 이후 약 2개월 만의 회동이다.
윤 대통령은 회담 모두발언에서 "지난 5월 한·일·중 정상회의에서 뵙고 다시 또 만나 뵙게 돼 정말 반갑다"며 "기시다 총리와 저의 견고한 신뢰를 바탕으로 양국이 긴밀한 소통을 이어가며 협력 성과를 쌓아가고 있는 것을 기쁘게 생각한다"고 말했다.
