대통령실이 10일(현지시간) 나토(NATO·북대서양조약기구) 정상회의를 계기로 한·미 정상회담을 추진 중이라고 전했다.
김태효 국가안보실 제1차장은 이날 오후 미국 워싱턴 DC 현지 브리핑에서 "한·미 정상회담은 미 백악관·용산 대통령실이 잠시라도 만나 얘기할 필요성이 있다는 데 인식을 같이하고 있다"며 이같이 밝혔다.
대통령실 고위관계자는 이날 취재진과 만나 "오늘 저녁 (바이든 대통령과) 환담 시간 등으로 보면 윤석열 대통령이 바이든 대통령과 자유롭게 얘기할 기회는 많이 있으나 한·미 정상이 공식적으로 만나 얘기해야 할 주제가 있어 최선을 다하고 있다"고 전했다.
