[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자]진주시는 15일 진주시 매립장 주변지역 주민들의 불법 쓰레기 반입·매립과 관련한 주장에 대해, 진주시 관련규칙에 따라 반입 가능폐기물만 반입, 허가를 받지 않은 차량에 대해 엄격히 출입을 통제하고 있다고 밝혔다.
15일 오전 매립장 인근 주민 80여명은 진주시청 광장에서 불법쓰레기 매립과 관련해 집회를 열고, 불법 쓰레기 반입 및 매립금지, 침출수 처리과정 투명공개, 소각장 설치 절대 반대 등을 주장했다.
진주시 내동면 위치한 매립장은 법률에 의해 매립장 부지 경계선으로부터 2km를 지원하고 있고, 관련 지역인 내동면 3개 마을과 사천시 축동면, 곤양면, 곤명면의4개 마을에 대해 주민지원협의체를 구성하고 있다.
