[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 농촌 일손부족의 어려움을 해소하기 위해 지난 4월 접수한 계절근로자 874명을 법무부로부터 배정받았다고 16일 밝혔다.
시는 올 상반기에 배정받은 846명을 포함, 한 해 동안 1720명의 인원을 배정받아 전국 세 번째로 많은 계절근로자를 배정받았다.
시는 배정받은 근로자의 빠른 입국을 위해 이달 초에 고용주 및 결혼이민자를 대상으로 설명회를 7월 1일부터 8일까지 개최했다.
결혼이민자는 시에 거주중인 자로 본국의 가족·4촌 이내 친척을 계절근로자로 초청할 수 있고, 선정 시 입국 후 5개월 동안 계절근로자로 일할 수 있다.
결혼이민자는 초청근로자와의 관계를 증명할 수 있는 본국의 서류와 국내용 혼인관계증명서 등을 준비해 오는 10월까지 진주시농촌일손지원센터에 제출해야 한다.
