한중도시우호협회는 7월22일 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장은 22일 오후 중국 랴오닝(遼寧)성 단둥(丹東)시 청사 회의실에서 열린 '단둥시-금천구청 교류 간담회'에 참석해 페이웨이둥(裵偉東) 당서기를 면담했다”고 알렸다.
이 자됴에 따르면, 이날 간담회에서 페이웨이둥 서기는 "단둥은 중국의 변경 도시 중 가장 크고 무역과 관광 등에서 발전하는 도시"라며 "서울 금천구와 같은 중심 산업도시와의 교류를 확대하고 싶다"고 말했다.
유성훈 서울시 금천구청장은 "2020년 코로나19 시기에 우호도시를 맺고 이번에 단둥을 처음 방문하게 돼 기쁘다"며 "앞으로 단둥시와 경제ㆍ문화 등 다양한 교류를 통해 서로 발전해 나가자"고 화답했다.
권기식 한중도시우호협회 회장은 "2016년 이후 8년 만에 단둥을 다시 방문했는 데 경제적으로 매우 활기가 넘치는 것에 놀랐다"며 "단둥의 개발구에 많은 한국 기업들이 관심을 갖기 바란다"고 말했다.
권기식 회장은 이어 유 청장과 함께 이날 저녁에 마련된 단둥시 초청 만찬에 참석해 황슈애리(黃學利) 부시장, 뚜후이(杜慧) 외사판공실 주임 등과 한중 지방정부 교류와 협력에 대해 대담했다.

According to this report, at the meeting that day, Secretary Fei Weidong said, "Dandong is the largest of China's border cities and a city that is developing in trade and tourism," and added, "We want to expand exchanges with central industrial cities such as Jincheon-gu, Seoul." .
Yoo Seong-hoon, head of Geumcheon-gu in Seoul, responded, "I am happy to have established a friendship city relationship during the COVID-19 period in 2020 and to visit Dandong for the first time," adding, "Let's continue to develop with Dandong City through various exchanges, including economics and culture."
Kwon Ki-sik, president of the Korea-China Cities Friendship Association, said, "I visited Dandong again after eight years since 2016 and was surprised to see that it is very economically vibrant. I hope that many Korean companies will be interested in Dandong's development zone."
Chairman Kwon Ki-sik then attended the Dandong City invitation dinner held that evening with Commissioner Yoo and had a conversation with Deputy Mayor Huang Shuai-li (黃學利) and Director of the Foreign Affairs Office Tu Hui (杜慧) about exchanges and cooperation between Korean and Chinese local governments.
