윤석열 대통령이 31일 신임 고용노동부 장관 후보자에 김문수 경제사회노동위원장을 지명했다.
또 주일본대사에 박철희 국립외교원장, 주호주대사로 심승섭 전 해군참모총장을 임명하는 등 재외공관장 2명에 대한 인사도 단행했다. 국립외교원장 후임엔 최형찬 주네덜란드 대사를 임명했다.
정진석 대통령 비서실장은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실 브리핑에서 이같은 인선 사안을 전했다.
정 실장은 김 후보자에 대해 "20~30대를 노동현장서 근로자 권익 향상을 위해 치열하게 활동했다"며 "고용노동계 현안이 산적한 시점에 노동현장·입법·행정부를 두루 경험한 후보자야말로 노동개혁을 완수할 적임자"라고 전했다.
그러면서 "노동운동가 출신 김 후보자는 지난 15·16·17대 국회의원을 거쳐 두 차례 경기지사를 지냈다"며 "지난 2022년 9월 대통령 직속 사회적 대화기구 경사노위위원장(장관급)에 임명돼 지속가능한 경제사회를 위한 노사정간 협의를 이끌고 경제활성화를 위해 노력했다"고 설명했다.
김 후보자는 이날 지명 후 소감에서 "한국노총을 비롯 노동계·경총을 비롯한 사용자 단체, 국회와 노동 관련 학계, 언론계 말씀을 늘 경청하겠다"고 밝혔다.
또 "노동개혁의 또 다른 과제 노동 약자 보호는 복잡하고 어려운 문제"라며 "5인 미만 사업장이나 영세중소기업 미조직 노동자도 결혼해 자녀를 가질 소박한 꿈을 이루게 정부가 나서 적극 도와드려야 하겠다"고 밝혔다.
