울진군, 제7회 전국남녀 후포비치발리볼 대회 개최

【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 오는 3일,4일 양일간 울진 후포해수욕장 특설경기장에서제7회 전국남녀 후포비치발리볼 대회를 개최한다고 1일 밝혔다.

후포면청년회와 울진군체육회가 주최·주관하는 이번 대회는 총 48개팀 500여명이 참석한 가운데 남자팀, 여자팀으로 나누어 예선 조별리그를 거쳐 결선 토너먼트 방식으로 진행한다.

비치발리볼은 해변 모래밭에서 하는 배구의 일종으로 1920년대 초 미국에서 시작하여 1992년 바로셀로나올림픽대회 시범종목에 이어 1996년 애틀랜타올림픽대회부터 정식종목으로 채택됐다.

손병복 울진군수는“전국대회로 성장해 올해 7번째를 맞이하는 후포비치발리볼 대회가 한여름 무더위에 지친 지역민과 피서객들에게 시원한 스파이크를 날려 낭만과 건강미를 선사하는 해양스포츠의 메카로 기억될 것으로 기대한다”라고 말했다.
