윤석열 대통령이 12일 현 정부 출범 후 처음 이명박 전 대통령을 관저로 초청해 부부 동반 만찬을 가졌다.
윤 대통령과 이 전 대통령은 이날 오후 서울 용산구 한남동 대통령 관저에서 부부 동반 만찬을 시작한 가운데 지난 이명박 정부에서 청와대 정무수석을 지낸 정진석 대통령 비서실장도 배석했다.
지난 2022년 12월 이 전 대통령이 사면·복권된 후 두 사람은 지난해 8월 윤 대통령 부친상 빈소에서 마주한 적 있다. 공식 석상에서 만나는 건 이번이 처음인 가운데 이날 만찬은 윤 대통령 제안으로 이뤄졌다.
이날 만찬에선 국정 운영 특히 원전 수출이 핵심 화제에 오를 것으로 보인다. 한국수력원자력은 지난달 체코 원전 우선협상대상자로 선정된 가운데 한국이 원자로 포함 한국형 원전을 수출하는 건 이명박 정부 시절인 지난 2009년 아랍에미리트(UAE) 바라카 원전 수주 후 15년 만이다.
윤 대통령은 지난해 말엔 박근혜 전 대통령을 관저에 초대한 바 있다.
