윤석열 대통령이 13일 유상임 과학기술정보통신부 장관 후보자에 대한 인사청문경과보고서 송부를 국회에 요청했다.
대통령실은 이날 오후 언론 공지에서 "윤 대통령은 오늘 국회에 유상임 과기부 장관 후보자에 대한 인사청문경과보고서 송부를 요청했다"고 전했다. 송부 기한은 오는 15일까지다.
국회 인사청문회법에 따르면 국회는 대통령이 인사청문요청안을 제출한 날로부터 20일 이내 청문절차를 마쳐야 하고, 보고서가 채택되지 않으면 대통령은 10일 이내 기간을 정해 국회에 재송부를 요청할 수 있다. 국회가 송부 시한을 넘길 경우 다음 날부터 청문보고서 채택 없이 임명 가능하다.
당초 유 후보자에 대한 청문보고서 채택 기한은 12일까지였으나 국회 과학기술정보방송통신위원회는 채택 여부를 논의하지 않았다. 더불어민주당 등 야당은 위장전입과 유 후보자 장남의 미국 불법체류 기간 중 마리화나 사용 의혹 등을 이유로 자진 사퇴를 요구 중이다.
윤 대통령은 국회가 오는 15일까지 재송부 요청에 응하지 않을 시 유 후보자를 임명할 것으로 보인다.
