한중도시우호협회는 8월22일 보도자료에서 “권기식 한중도시우호협회장은 8월22일 오후 중국 베이징시 차오양(朝陽)구 량마허난루(亮馬河南路) 소재 타위앤(塔園)외교빌딩에 있는 중국공공외교연구원을 방문해 쑨즈궈(孫治國) 부회장 겸 비서장과 한중 공공교류 확대 방안에 대해 대담했다”고 알렸다.

보도자료에 따르면, 권기식 은 이어 차오양구 량마차오(亮馬橋) 소재 캠핀스키호텔 양식당에서 쑨 비서장과 만찬을 함께 하며 한중 지도자 교류 등에 대해 논의했다. 권기식 회장은 "한중 공공교류 강화를 위해 지도급 인사들의 교류와 대화를 적극 추진해야 한다"며 "한중도시우호협회와 중국공공외교연구원이 협력해 한중 공공교류의 길을 활짝 열어나가자"고 말했다.
쑨즈궈(孫治國) 비서장은 "권 회장의 생각에 공감한다. 서로 논의해 연내 구체적인 교류 프로그램을 만들자"라고 화답했다.
