울진과학체험관, ‘온라인과학관 지원사업’ 공모 선정

【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군(군수 손병복)은 국립중앙과학관 및 한국과학관협회에서 주관한 2024년 전국 과학관 네트워크 ‘온라인 과학관 지원기관 공모’사업에 최종 선정됐다고 26일 밝혔다.

이번 사업은 지역 과학문화 행사지원을 통한 과학문화 격차 해소 및 전국 과학관 네크워크 강화를 목적으로 진행된다.

전국 141개 등록과학관 중 신청서를 평가하여 선정된 9개 과학관에 메타버스 기반 VR-PC방식의 체험 장비를 설치하고 운영 방법을 전수해 주는 사업이다.

메타버스 가상공간에서 어드벤처 게이밍, 생물도감 완성하기, 나만의 아바타 만들기 등에 참여할 수 있고, 보물찾기, 농구, 곤충채집 등 VR 체험도 할 수 있다.

일정은 8월 말 H/W, 9월 중 S/W 설치 후, 운영 기술 전수와 시범 운영을 거쳐 10월 초순에 일반 관람객이 체험할 수 있다.

손병복 울진군수는“울진의 꿈나무들에게 4차 산업혁명 첨단 기술을 대중화한 체험 기회를 제공하여, 이 시대의 신규 직업군에 다가갈 수 있는 아이디어를 도출하고, 더 나아가 진로 선택에 도움이 될 기회가 되기를 바란다”라고 말했다.

Uljin Science Experience Center, selected for ‘Online Science Museum Support Project’ competition
