28일 경주시에 따르면 이번 사업은 음식물쓰레기를 줄이고 기자재 구입에 따른 식당주의 경제적 부담을 완화하기 위해 지난해 이어 두 번째 추진된다.
지난해는 경북도 식품진흥기금 공모사업에 경주시가 선정되면서 본격적으로 시작됐고, 올해는 시 식품진흥기금으로 사업이 시행된다.
올해는 총 30개 식당을 선발할 예정으로, 선정된 식당은 영업장 환경에 맞는 크기의 반찬 냉장고 1대를 지원받게 된다. 자부담은 없다. 총 사업비는 3000만원이 배정됐다.
반찬 냉장고 지원을 원하는 식당은 다음 달 10일까지 경주시청 홈페이지에서 신청서를 내려받아서 제출하면 된다.
제출 방법은 경주시청 식품위생산업과를 방문하거나, 신청인 서명과 함께 신청서를 스캔해 이메일(jjoajjoa@korea.kr)로 보내면 된다.
서류 평가와 심사를 거쳐 다음 달 중 최종 결정되며, 지역 내 소규모 음식점 및 영업기간이 오래된 업소가 우선 선정된다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “이번 지원사업으로 ‘낭비없는 음식문화개선’에 영업주들의 자발적인 참여를 유도하고, 영업주의 인력난 완화에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”며 “경주시는 앞으로도 영업주의 경제적 부담을 완화할 수 있는 지원을 확대하고, 청결하고 쾌적한 외식 환경 조성에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 경주시는 지난해 일반음식점 59개소를 대상으로 셀프바 냉장고 지원사업을 추진해 식당주들로부터 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다.

Meanwhile, Gyeongju City promoted a self-bar refrigerator support project for 59 general restaurants last year, which received a great response from restaurant owners.
