이번 점검에는 시·구청 담당 공무원과 원산지표시 명예감시원 등 22명이 투입된다.
이들은 지역의 도·소매업체와 음식점, 즉석조리식품 판매업체, 통신판매업체 등이 판매하는 대추, 곶감, 밤, 고사리, 팥(송편), 동태 등의 제수용품과 소고기, 돼지고기, 닭고기, 과일바구니, 선물용품 등에 들어가는 농·축·수산물에 대한 원산지 표시를 점검한다.
특히, 원산지 표시 위반율이 높은 명태, 오징어, 조기, 참돔, 낙지 등의 수산물은 더욱 특별히 살필 예정이다.
주요 점검 사항은 ▲원산지 거짓(허위) 표시와 혼동표시 ▲원산지 미표시와 표시 방법 위반 ▲원산지 기재 영수증이나 거래 증빙자료 비치·보관 등이다.
시는 점검 결과 위반 사례가 경미할 경우 현장에서 즉시 시정 조치하고, 중대한 위반 사항에 대해서는 과태료 처분 등 관련법에 따라 행정처분한다.
시 관계자는 “추석 명절 전후로 수요가 늘어날 것으로 예상되는 품목을 집중 점검해 시민들이 안심하고 소비할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
