올해 10월 1일 건군 제76주년 '국군의 날'이 임시 공휴일로 지정되는 안건이 3일 국무회의를 거쳐 확정될 것으로 이날 알려졌다.
대통령실에 따르면 윤석열 대통령은 이날 오전 한덕수 국무총리 주재로 열리는 제38회 국무회의에서 올해 국군의 날을 임시공휴일로 지정하는 안건이 상정·의결되면 이날 중 재가할 것으로 전해졌다.
윤 대통령은 지난해 10월 2일을 임시공휴일로 지정하는 안건 역시 오전 국무회의 통과 직후인 당일 오후 재가한 바 있다.
앞서 지난 8월 25일 국민의 힘·정부·대통령실은 서울 종로구 삼청동 총리공관에서 열린 고위당정협의회에서 국군의 날 임시공휴일 지정을 적극 검토키로 한 바 있다.

It was reported today that the agenda to designate 'Armed Forces Day', the 76th anniversary of the foundation of the Armed Forces on October 1st of this year, as a temporary public holiday will be confirmed through a Cabinet meeting on the 3rd.
According to the Office of the President, President Yoon Seok-yeol is reported to be planning to approve the agenda to designate this year's Armed Forces Day as a temporary public holiday during the 38th Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Han Duck-soo on the morning of that day if it is presented and approved.
President Yoon also approved the agenda to designate October 2nd last year as a temporary public holiday in the afternoon of the same day, right after it passed the Cabinet meeting in the morning.
Earlier, on August 25th, the People Power Party, the government, and the Office of the President decided to actively review designating Armed Forces Day as a temporary public holiday at a high-ranking party-government meeting held at the Prime Minister's Residence in Samcheong-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
