[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시 시설관리공단은 지난 8월 말 본격 업무 개시를 앞두고 관리 시설물에 대한 일제 안전 점검을 실시해 선제적으로 대응으로 시민들에게 호평을 받고 있다.
선제점검은 공단에서 관리 운영할 진주종합경기장, 중앙 지하도상가, 화물자동차공영차고지, 시 지정 게시대, 공영주차장 등 5개 시설물을 대상에 대해 집중적으로 추진됐다.
공단은 전기, 설비, 소방, 시설물 등 분야별 점검을 통해 경미한 사항은 현장에서 즉시 조치하고, 중요 사안은 시와 협의해 예산 확보에 나서는 등 시설물에 대해 안전관리를 선제적으로 대응하고 있다.
또 시설공단은 매월 2일을 ‘안전점검의 날’로 지정하고 시설물을 시민들이 이용하는데 위험할 수 있는 요소를 사전에 제거해 사고를 예방에 중점을 두고 지속 관리한다는 방침이다.
정상섭 이사장은 “시민과 공단 직원의 안전 확보보다 중요한 것은 없다”며 “시민들이 시설을 안심하고 이용할 수 있는 환경을 조성하겠다”고 말했다.
