거창군이 주최하고 거창군여성단체협의회(회장 김미숙)가 주관하는 이번 행사는, 구인모 거창군수, 이재운 거창군의회 의장 등을 비롯해 양성평등 유공자 및 모범 장학생, 여성단체협의회 회원 등 350여 명이 참석했다.
‘함께 일하고 함께 돌보는 양성평등 거창’이라는 주제로 열린 기념식은, 거창군여성단체협의회 회장의 개회 선언을 시작으로, 우리문화 연구원의 식전공연, 양성평등 유공자 표창 및 모범 학생 장학금 전달, ‘양성평등 거창’의 염원을 담은 퍼포먼스가 진행됐다.
이어 방송인 조문식 씨가 ‘양성평등, 여성친화도시를 위한 우리의 역할’을 주제로 특강을 진행했으며 화합 한마당도 열려 참석자들에게 큰 호응을 얻었다.
