윤석열 대통령이 4일 방한한 토마쉬 포야르 체코 국가안보보좌관을 접견했다고 대통령실이 전했다.
대통령실은 이날 "포야르 보좌관은 이 자리에서 한국수력원자력이 우선협상대상자로 선정된 두코바니 신규 원전 건설 사업 최종계약을 체결케 될 것이라 확신한다"고 밝혔다고 전했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 포야르 보좌관을 만나 먼저 "민주주의·인권·법치 등 핵심 가치를 공유하는 대한민국과 체코가 경제·정치·문화·외교안보 같은 다양한 분야에서 긴밀히 협력하고 있어 기쁘게 생각한다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "체코 정부가 지난 7월 체코 역사상 최대 투자프로젝트 하나인 두코바니 신규 원전 건설 사업 우선협상대상자로 '팀 코리아를 선정한 건 한·체코 협력 강화에 대한 양국의 확고한 의지를 보여준 것"이라며 "체코 원전 사업 성공적 완수를 위해 적극 협력해나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.
또 "2015년 수립한 한·체코 전략적 동반자 관계를 한층 강화하고 양국의 호혜적 협력을 확대하는 구체적 성과를 거두길 기대한다"고 말했다.
이에 포야르 보좌관은 "대통령의 9월 체코 방문을 실무적으로 준비하기 위해 한국을 찾은 것"이라며 "체코 정부는 원전·산업·투자·방산·교통·연구개발(R&D) 등에 걸쳐 한국과 전면적 협력을 강화하길 희망한다"고 말했다.
또 "체코로선 한국과 두코바니 원전 건설 사업 최종계약을 체결케 될 것을 확신하고 있다"며 "페트르 피알라 총리 초청에 따른 윤 대통령의 체코 방문이 한·체코 관계를 획기적으로 강화하는 계기가 되도록 준비에 만전을 기할 것"이라고 했다.
윤 대통령은 9월 중 체코를 직접 찾아 두코바니 원전 산업 수주는 물론 다양한 분야에서의 양국 간 협력 방안을 논의 예정이다.
