브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 대우건설은 한국의 체코 두코바니 원전 우선협상대상자 선정에 이은 후속작업으로 원자력 분야 조직을 확대 개편했다고 9일 밝혔다.
대우건설 원자력사업은 플랜트사업본부 원자력사업단이 중심이 돼 사업을 추진하고 있다. 이번 개편으로 원자력 조직은 기존 2팀+2TF(신규원전TF팀, 원자력설계TF팀)에서 3개팀(국내원전팀, SMR팀, 원자력설계팀)이 추가 신설되고, 체코원전준비반 조직을 갖춘 5팀 1반 체제로 확대된다.
한국원자력학회 보고서에 따르면 유럽연합(EU)은 2050년까지 총 100기의 신규 원자력 발전소를 건설할 예정으로, 원자력 르네상스를 선도하는 시장으로 부상하고 있다.
대우건설은 이번 원자력사업단 조직 확대 개편을 통해 체코원전 사업을 성공적으로 수행하고, 이를 교두보 삼아 향후 예정된 세계 원전시장 진출 확대에 적극적으로 나설 계획이다.
신설된 국내원자력팀은 기존 대우건설이 강점으로 보유한 원자력 생애주기 전분야 실적을 바탕으로 국내 신규원전 영업 뿐만 아니라, 원전해체, 방폐장, 연구용원자로, 가속기 등 원자력 이용시설의 수주영업을 담당한다. 또한, 신성장동력 발굴을 위해 SMR팀을 신설했으며 약 600조 규모의 세계시장을 정조준한다는 방침이다.
대우건설은 한국전력 컨소시엄의 일원으로 2012년 우리나라가 세계 최초로 취득한 소형모듈원자로(SMR) 표준설계인 SMART100(System-integrated Modular Advanced ReacTor 100)
개발에 참여했다. 이를 통해 향후 SMART 원전을 통한 사업진출 시 시공분야 사업우선권을 확보해둔 상태다.
대우건설 관계자는 “이번 조직 개편은 한수원(KHNP)과 함께 체코 원전 계약 및 프로젝트 본격 수행을 위한 준비 뿐만 아니라, 국내외 신규원전과 SMR 등 신규 먹거리 창출을 위한 밑그림”이라며 “현재 에너지 안보 위기로 앞다투어 신규 원전을 건설하려는 유럽시장과 UAE 등 중동지역에서도 제2, 제3의 체코원전 수주 쾌거를 달성할 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
