윤석열 대통령이 10일 "가짜뉴스·거짓 선전·선동으로부터 자유민주주의를 지켜내기 위해 자유세계가 더욱 굳게 연대해야 한다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 인천 중구 영종도 인스파이어 아레나에서 매일경제신문 주최로 열린 '제25회 세계지식포럼'에 참석해 축사에서 "이제 공존을 위한 연대를 생각해야 할 때"라며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "인공지능(AI)을 비롯 혁신적 디지털 기술은 일상생활·산업에 많은 편익을 안겨준다"며 "가짜뉴스·딥페이크를 통해 인권·민주주의를 훼손하는 부작용을 일으키고 있다"고 지적했다.
또 "과학 기술 진보가 가져다준 가공할 군사력·정교한 무기 체계는 평화를 지켜주는 수단이기도 하나 규범 기반 질서를 뒤흔드는 위협이 되기도 한다"고 지적했다.
이어 "우리는 지정학적 갈등·경쟁이 동시 진행되는 복합 위기 시대에 살고 있다"며 "권위주의·전체주의 세력은 끊임없이 규범 기반 국제 질서에 도전하고 있다"고 말했다.
더불어 "급변하는 기술이 불러온 위협·갈등을 해소하고 공존을 통해 인류 자유·복지를 확장할 수 있도록 함께 힘모아야 한다"고 강조했다.
윤 대통령은 "전쟁·무력 분쟁을 종식하고 세계 평화를 회복하기 위해 자유·연대 힘을 복원해야 한다"며 "기술·패권·공급망 경쟁으로 고통받는 취약 국가·계층 어려움을 덜어줘야 한다"고 덧붙였다.
