윤석열 대통령이 10일 "정부 의료개혁은 경제 규모가 커지면서 질 높은 의료 수요 또한 증가함에 따라 의료 시스템이 제대로 작동하고 의료진들에게도 더 좋은 대우를 받을 수 있도록 하기 위한 것으로 이 점을 국민·의료계에 잘 설명해야 한다"고 밝혔다고 대통령실이 전했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 열린 제39회 국무회의에서 조규홍 보건복지부 장관에게 추석 의료 대책을 보고받고 "의료계를 잘 설득해야 한다"며 이같이 말했다고 정혜전 대통령실 대변인이 오후 서면브리핑에서 전했다. 윤 대통령은 각 부처 장관들로부터 추석 민생 대책·현안을 보고받고 대책을 점검했다.
조 장관은 "추석 연휴 응급의료에 대한 불안감이 없도록 철저히 준비하겠다"고 말했다. 정부는 추석 의료 공백을 막기 위해 진찰료·조제료 등 건강보험 수가를 대폭 인상키로 한 가운데 응급실엔 군의관·공중보건의·진료지원 간호사(PA) 등을 투입한다.
