윤석열 대통령이 11일 방한 중인 훈 센 캄보디아 상원의장과 만나 상호 관계 발전 방안 관련 의견을 나눴다고 대통령실이 전했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실에서 센 의장을 접견하고 "올해 5월 전략적 동반자 관계로 격상된 양국 관계가 비약적 발전하고 있다"며 "올해 한·아세안 관계가 포괄적 전략동반자 관계로 격상될 예정인 만큼 한·아세안 연대구상 중요 파트너 캄보디아와의 관계 발전에도 새 동력이 마련될 걸로 기대한다"고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "양국 국민들이 마음 놓고 서로 국가를 방문할 수 있도록 해 달라"며 "최근 캄보디아에서 급증하고 있는 우리 국민 대상 범죄 예방·소탕에 관심가져달라"고 주문했다.
이에 훈 센 상원의장은 "한국을 캄보디아의 가장 중요 파트너로 생각한다"며 "2022년 발효된 한·캄 FTA가 양국 간 교역·투자를 활발히 견인해 나가고 있다"고 말했다.
또 "앞으로도 한·캄 우정의 다리같은 대규모 인프라 협력 사업에 한국 기업이 참여해주길 희망한다"며 "한반도 평화를 증진키 위한 한국 노력을 지지하며 한·아세안 간 포괄적 전략 동반자 관계 격상을 환영하고 앞으로도 양국 관계 발전을 위해 계속 기여해 나가겠다고"고 덧붙였다.
