[브레이크뉴스경기남부=성남 이현준기자] 성남시는 빙상팀 최민정 선수가 치킨 100마리(300만원 상당)를 기부했다.
12일 시청 4층 시장 직무실에서 신상진 성남시장과 최민정 선수 등이 참석한 가운데 ‘치킨 기부 전달식’을 했다.
최민정 선수는 2022년 베이징 동계올림픽에서 여자 1500m 금메달을 따내 BBQ로부터 받은 치킨연금(60세까지 매일 3만원씩 쌓이는 치킨 포인트)으로 이번 기부에 나서게 됐다.
해당 치킨은 이날 자광원에 20마리 배달에 이어 다음 달 소망재활원에 45마리, 오는 11월 예가원에 35마리 등 월별 차례로 배달 주문된다.
최민정 선수는 “매일 쌓이는 치킨을 지역사회 필요한 곳에 함께 나누고 싶었다”며 “좋은 일에 사용될 수 있어서 뿌듯하다”고 말했다.
신상진 성남시장은 “최민정 선수가 올림픽 메달로 받게 된 치킨을 함께 나누는 모습은 많은 체육인에게 귀감이 될 것”이라면서 “실력도 선행도 최고인 최민정 선수가 우리 성남시 소속으로 있어 매우 자랑스럽게 생각한다”고 말했다.
최민정 선수는 2022년 베이징 동계올림픽 출전 이후 1년간 컨디션 조절과 기술 연마를 위해 국가대표 휴식기를 가졌다.
현재는 쇼트트랙 국가대표로 복귀해 내년 2월에 있을 하얼빈 동계아시안게임과 2026년 밀라노 동계올림픽 출전을 준비 중이다.
