동국대학교경주병원, 거점지역응급의료센터 지정

거점 지역응급의료센터는 역량있는 지역응급의료센터가 중증 응급환자(KTAS 1-2등급) 치료 중심으로 운영될 수 있도록 지정한 것으로 권역응급의료센터의 부담을 줄이고 국가 전체적인 중증 응급환자 치료 역량을 높여 신속한 최종 치료를 제공하기 위한 것이다.

보건복지부는 지역응급의료센터 중 허가병상 300병상을 초과하는 종합병원 이상의 의료기관 중 인력구성, 진료역량 등에 대한 평가를 거쳐 총 14곳을 지정하였으며, 경북지역에서는 동국대학교경주병원이 대표 거점지역응급의료센터로 지정됐다.

동국대학교경주병원은 329병상 규모의 종합병원으로 응급의학과 전담 의사는 총 13명이다.

정주호 병원장은 “응급의료의 어려움을 해소하기 위해 거점 지역응급의료센터 지정으로 지역민들의 불안을 최소화하고 안심하고 치료받을 수 있도록 중증 응급의료체계를 구축에 최선의 노력을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
