체코를 공식 방문한 윤석열 대통령이 20일(현지시간) 마르케타 페카로바 아다모바 체코 하원의장을 만나 "양국 정부가 희망하는 대로 최종 계약이 원활히 체결될 수 있도록 아다모바 의장을 비롯 체코 하원의 각별한 관심·지원을 기대한다"고 말했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오후 프라하 하원의사당 툰 궁에서 아다모바 하원의장을 접견하고 "한국 기업의 두코바니 신규 원전 건설 사업 참여가 앞으로 한·체코 관계를 획기적으로 발전시키는 전기가 될 것"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "이 원전 사업이 체코 경제 발전·기술 역량 강화에도 기여할 수 있도록 한국 정부가 최선의 노력을 다할 것"이라고 했다.
또 "첨단 과학기술·수소 등 재생에너지와 고속철 등 교통 인프라 분야에서도 양국 협력 잠재력이 크다"며 "양국이 원전 협력을 계기로 더욱 다양한 분야로 협력을 확대해 나가길 바란다"고 덧붙였다.
아다모바 의장·체코 하원의원들은 "한국수력원자원의 두코바니 원전 사업 참여가 체코 에너지 안보 강화·원전산업 발전에도 큰 도움될 것으로 기대한다"며 "양국 경제 협력 전기를 마련할 수 있도록 함께 노력하자"고 화답했다.
또 아다모바 의장은 "윤 대통령의 이번 체코 공식 방문이 양국 전략적 동반자 관계를 강화하는 중요 계기가 될 것"이라며 "양국이 경제·문화·외교안보 등 분야에서 협력을 강화할 수 있도록 체코 하원 차원에서도 여야가 힘합쳐 적극 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.
