윤석열 대통령이 24일 야권 일각(문재인·임종석)의 '통일 포기·2국가론'에 "통일운동에 매진하며 통일이 인생 목표인 것처럼 얘기하던 많은 사람들이 북한이 '두 국가론'을 주장하자 자신들 주장을 급선회했는데 도무지 이해할 수 없다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 주재한 제41회 국무회의 모두 발언에서 "정치권 일각에서 갑자기 통일을 추진하지 말자는 목소리가 나온다"며 이같이 말했다.
이어 "자신들 통일 주장에 동의않으면 반 통일·반 민족 세력이라 규탄하더니 하루아침에 입장을 180도 바꾼 걸 누가 납득할 수 있겠나"라며 "자유민주주의 평화통일 추진 의무를 저버리는 반헌법적 발상"이라고 비판했다.
그러면서 "이들은 '통일을 버리고 평화를 선택하자' '통일부도 없애자' '헌법 영토 조항·평화통일 추진 조항도 삭제하자'고 주장한다"며 "북한이 핵 공격도 불사하겠다며 '적대적 두 국가론'을 주장하는 상황에서 평화적 두 국가론이 과연 가능한가"라고 반문했다.
또 "통일을 포기하면 남북 갈등·대립은 더욱 첨예해지고 한반도 안보 위험도 커진다"며 "정부는 강력한 힘·원칙에 의한 진정한 평화를 구축하고 이를 토대로 평화적 자유 통일을 추진해 나갈 것"이라고 밝혔다.
더불어 "결코 무력에 의한 통일이 아니다"며 "모든 개인 자유·인권이 존중되고 미래 세대에 꿈·희망을 안겨주는 통일 대한민국을 준비해 나가겠다"고 덧붙였다.
윤 대통령은 체코 원전 수주 관련한 야당의 비판 제기 관련해선 "정치권 일각에서 '덤핑·적자 수주'하며 근거 없는 낭설을 펴고 있다"며 "참으로 개탄스런 일"이라고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "사활을 걸고 뛰는 기업·협력업체, 이를 지원하는 정부를 돕지는 못할망정 이렇게 훼방하고 가로막아서야 되겠나"라고 지적했다.
또 "정부는 기업 수주·사업 참여를 국가적으로 지원하는 것뿐"이라며 "어느 기업이 손해나는 사업을 하겠나"라고 반박했다.
이어 "정쟁은 국경선에서 멈춰야 한다는 말이 있다"며 "국익 앞에 오직 대한민국만 있을 뿐 여야가 따로 있을 수 없다"고 밝혔다.
더불어 "국민을 위하고 나라 미래를 위한 올바른 길이 무엇인지 진지하게 성찰할 필요가 있다"고 야당을 겨냥했다.
윤 대통령은 중동 상황 대비를 당부하면서 추석 비상응급주간 종료에 앞서 국민·의료진들 협조에도 감사를 표했다.
윤 대통령은 "중앙·지방 비상진료체계 협력을 더욱 강화하기 위해 지자체 재난관리기금을 비상진료에 사용할 수 있도록 특례를 신설한다"며"며 "응급의료를 비롯 비상진료체계를 굳건하게 유지해 주기 바란다"고 관계부처·지자체에 주문했다.
이어 "전 세계적 인플레이션에 대응키 위해 높은 금리를 유지했던 통화정책이 전환점을 맞은 것으로 평가된다"며 "국제경제 상황이 변화하고 우리 경제도 회복세를 보이고 있지만 누적된 고물가·고금리로 인해 국민들 체감 경기는 쉽게 회복되지 않고 있다"고 우려했다.
