【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국수력원자력(주) 월성원자력본부(본부장 김한성)는 지난 24일 홍보관에서 경주시 감포읍이장협의회(회장 고하근) 및 문무대왕면이장협의회(회장 임용수)와 지역사회 상생발전을 위한 실천을 다짐하는 서약을 체결했다고 25일 밝혔다.

이번 서약은 한수원지원사업(구 명칭 사업자지원사업)을 시행함에 있어 주민소통과 행정업무를 대행하고 있는 동경주 지역 이장과 월성본부의 신뢰관계 강화로 지역주민의 삶의 질을 제고하고자 하는 목적에서 추진됐다.
서약서에는 이장협의회는 다양한 이해관계자들이 신뢰할 수 있도록 지원사업을 투명하게 집행하고, 청렴성을 유지하며, 월성원자력본부는 안전한 원전운영과 주민들이 체감하고 만족할 수 있는 사업을 이장협의회와 공동으로 발굴하여 공정하고 투명하게 추진한다는 내용 등이 포함된다.
고하근 감포이장협의회장은 “월성원자력과의 소통이 현실적으로 잘 이루어지고 있지만, 구체적으로 서약함으로써 본부와 청렴 상생해야 한다는 의무감과 책임감이 더 부여되는 것 같다.”고 소감을 전했고, 임용수 문무이장협의회장은 “안전하게 원전 본부를 운영해 주기를 바라며 우리 이장들 또한 청렴하고 투명하게 지원사업을 추진하겠다.”고 말했다.
김한성 본부장은 “최일선의 이장님들이 주민과의 가교역할을 잘 해 주시는 것을 본부장으로써 항상 감사하게 생각한다.”며, “주민 다수가 원하는 일자리 창출 등의 체감형 사업을 이장님들과 논의하여 적극 발굴하겠다.”고 말했다.
한편 이장협의회와의 서약은 2023년 9월 양남면이장협의회와 처음 체결하였으며, 이후 월성원자력본부는 한층 더 강화된 유대관계로 양남면이장협의회와 지원사업을 수행하고 있다.
이번 동경주 전체 이장협의회와의 서약 체결로 향후 한수원지원사업과 발전소 운영에 대한 협력을 확대 도모하는 것에 그 의미와 기대가 크다.
