대통령실이 8일 윤석열 대통령 부인 김건희 여사 공천 개입 의혹 핵심 당사자 명태균 씨의 '윤 대통령 내외와 지속 소통했다'는 등 주장을 거듭 일축했다.
대통령실은 이날 저녁 언론 공지에서 "윤 대통령은 국민의힘 정치인들을 통해 명씨를 만나게 됐다"며 "윤 대통령이 정치를 시작한 뒤 국민의힘에 입당하기 전 2021년 7월 초 자택을 찾아온 국민의힘 고위당직자가 명씨를 데리고 와 처음 보게 됐다"고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "얼마 후 역시 자택을 방문한 국민의힘 정치인이 명씨를 데려와 두 번째 만남을 갖게가 된 것"이라며 "윤 대통령이 당시 두 정치인을 자택서 만난 건 그들이 보안을 요구했기 때문이며 명씨가 대통령과 별도 친분이 있어 자택에 오게 된 게 아니다"고 전했다.
