윤석열 대통령이 지난 9월 말 집중호우로 대규모 피해가 발생한 경남 김해시 칠산서부동·전남 장흥군 장흥읍 등 14개 읍·면·동을 특별재난지역으로 선포했다고 대통령실이 15일 전했다.
해당 선포지역은 경남 김해시 칠산서부동·경남 창원시 웅동1동·전남 장흥군 장흥읍·용산면·강진군 작천면·군동면·병영면·해남군 계곡면·황산면·산이면·화원면, 영암군 금정면·시종면·미암면 등이라고 정혜전 대통령실 대변인이 서면브리핑에서 전했다.
윤 대통령은 "지난 9월 말 기습 폭우로 주택·농작물 등 피해본 주민이 많아 안타깝다"며 "농작물 피해가 많은 만큼 피해 농민에 대한 지원을 조속 진행하고 도로·주택 등 시설 피해 복구·각종 요금감면 등 직·간접 지원을 꼼꼼하게 챙겨달라"고 행정안전부·농림축산식품부 등 관계부처 장관에게 주문했다.
또 "이상 기후로 인해 10월에도 호우 발생 가능성이 있으므로 재난안전 당국에선 끝까지 긴장 끈을 놓지 말고 추가 피해가 없도록 만전을 기해달라"고 당부했다.
특별재난지역 선포 지역은 지방자치단체가 부담해야 하는 복구비 일부가 국비로 전환되고, 피해 국민에겐 재난지원금이 지원되며 국세·지방세 납부유예·공공요금 감면 등 간접 혜택도 받을 수 있다.
