브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 북한이 러시아 파병설에 대해 사실무근이라는 입장을 내놨다.
주유엔 북한대표부 관계자는 21일(현지시각) 유엔 제1위원회 패널 토론에서 러시아 파병설과 관련 "주권 국가와의 합법적이고 우호적인 협력을 약화하고 북한 이미지를 훼손하려는 근거 없고 뻔한 소문에 어떤 발언도 할 필요를 느끼지 못한다"고 일축했다.
이같은 발언은 이날 우크라이나 대표부가 "북한이 최대 1만1000명의 군인을 러시아에 배치할 것으로 예상한다", "북한은 유엔 제재를 위반하며 러시아에 군수품을 공급하고 있다" 등의 발언에 대해 반박하는 과정에서 나왔다.
북한대표부 관계자는 "주권 국가 간의 무기 이전에 관한 이런 (우크라이나의) 주장은 현재 회의에 적합하지 않다"고 했고, 북핵과 탄도미사일 발사를 비판하는 발언에 대해서도 "용납할 수 없는 내정 간섭이자 주권 침해"라고 맞받았다.
한편, 우크라이나는 이미 파병된 북한군이 우크라이나 내 러시아가 임시로 점령한 영토에 들어와 있다면서 북한이 1만여명이 넘는 파병 준비를 하고 있다고 주장하고 있다.
앞서 국가정보원도 북한이 1500여명에 달하는 특수부대를 러시아로 파병했다며 정찰위성 사진 등을 그 증거로 제시하기도 했다.

On the 21st (local time), an official from the North Korean mission to the UN dismissed the rumors about Russia's troop deployment during a panel discussion at the UN First Committee, saying, "We do not feel the need to make any comments on the groundless and obvious rumors aimed at weakening legitimate and friendly cooperation with sovereign states and damaging North Korea's image."
These remarks came during a rebuttal to statements made by the Ukrainian mission that day, such as, "North Korea is expected to deploy up to 11,000 soldiers to Russia," and, "North Korea is supplying military supplies to Russia in violation of UN sanctions."
The official from the North Korean mission said, "Such (Ukraine's) claims about arms transfers between sovereign states are not appropriate for the current meeting," and responded to statements criticizing North Korea's nuclear program and ballistic missile launches by saying, "This is unacceptable interference in internal affairs and a violation of sovereignty."
Meanwhile, Ukraine claims that North Korea is preparing to send over 10,000 troops, saying that North Korean troops that have already been dispatched are entering the territory temporarily occupied by Russia in Ukraine.
The National Intelligence Service also previously presented evidence such as reconnaissance satellite photos, saying that North Korea had dispatched over 1,500 special forces to Russia.
