충남 서산시가 세계적인 철새도래지 서산 천수만을 생태관광 중심지로 도약하기 위한 준비에 나섰다.
서산시는 지난 10월 18일 기준 12만 마리에 달하는 겨울 철새들이 도래한 서산 천수만의 생태학적 가치를 알리기 위해 2025 아시아 조류박람회 준비를 위해 행정력을 집중하고 있다.
이와 관련 서산시는 2025년 10월 31일부터 11월 3일까지 서산 천수만 일원에서 개최되는 ‘제14회 아시아 조류박람회’의 공식 로고를 선정했으며, 홍보와 대회 준비에 총력을 기울이고 있다고 22일 밝혔다.
선정된 공식 로고는 전체적으로 육지와 바다, 하늘을 색으로 형상화해 ‘해뜨는 서산’을 표현했으며, 중앙의 문양은 서산버드랜드 철새전시관의 문양을 표현했다.
또한, 서산 천수만의 대표적인 철새인 독수리(cinereous vulture), 흑두루미(hooded crane), 황새(oriental stork)를 넣어 세계적인 철새도래지임을 나타냈다.

박람회 준비를 위해 시는 지난 9월 26일 아시아 조류박람회 공동대표를 초청해 준비 상황을 공유하고 향후 계획을 논의했다.
서산시는 2025년 아시아 조류박람회에서 철새 현황 관리를 주제로 한 포럼 및 심포지엄, 천수만 탐조 투어 등 다양한 행사를 준비 중이다.
