대통령실이 24일 북한이 날려보낸 쓰레기 풍선이 대통령실 청사에도 떨어진 것에 대해 "안전점검 결과 물체 위험·오염성이 없는 것으로 확인돼 수거했고, 합참과의 공조하에 지속 모니터링 중"이라고 밝혔다.
대통령경호처는 이날 오전 북한의 쓰레기 풍선 도발에 이같이 밝힌 후 "세부사항은 쓰레기풍선 관련 사항을 총괄하는 합참을 통해 확인하기 바란다"고 전했다.
대통령실 청사내에 쓰레기 풍선이 발견된 건 이번이 벌써 두번째다. 앞서 지난 7월 24일에도 북한의 대남 오믈 풍선 살포로 인해 다수 낙하물이 용산 대통령실 청사내에서 발견돼 경호처가 처리한 바 있다.
앞서 합동참모본부는 이날 오전 2시 30분께 "북한이 대남 쓰레기 풍선 추정체를 또다시 부양하고 있다"고 밝혔다. 쓰레기 풍선 낙하물은 대통령실 포함 용산구 일대에 대거 낙하된 가운데 윤석열 대통령 내외에 대한 비난 내용이 실렸다.
이날 오후 윤 대통령과 안제이 두다 폴란드 대통령 간 정상회담을 앞두고 있어 낙하물을 수거하고 만일 상황에 대비하고 있다.
