브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= LG유플러스는 iM뱅크와 전국 대학 캠퍼스의 차세대 디지털 환경 구축을 위한 업무 협약을 체결했다고 24일 밝혔다.
iM뱅크는 올해 3월 대학교 전용 스마트 캠퍼스 플랫폼인 ‘iM 유니즈(iM uniz)’를 출시해 운영하고 있다. 이 서비스는 △모바일 학생증(신분증) △전자 출결 △주요 학사 일정 관리 △시설물 예약 등 대학생이 학교생활에 필요한 기능을 하나의 플랫폼에서 이용할 수 있는 것이 특징이다.
양사는 이번 업무 협약을 통해 LG유플러스의 AI 버추얼캠퍼스 ‘유버스(UVERSE)’와 ‘iM 유니즈’를 연동, 플랫폼 간 시너지를 창출할 계획이다. 또한, AI 번역, 3D 모델링 등 각 사가 보유하고 있는 스마트 캠퍼스 구축 기술을 교류해 서비스의 디지털 경쟁력을 강화한다는 목표다.
특히, LG유플러스는 ‘iM 유니즈’가 제휴를 맺고 있는 대학교에 메타버스 캠퍼스를 순차적으로 구축하고, 실시간 통번역 서비스 등 AI 기반의 학사 지원 기능을 제공할 예정이다.
아울러 학생들이 소속 대학과 관계없이 관심사를 기반으로 모임을 만들 수 있는 가상 공간 ‘유-스트리트(U-Street)’에도 ‘iM뱅크’의 별도 홍보 공간을 마련해 전국 대학생과 소통 할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.
