【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=한국원자력환경공단(이사장 조성돈, 이하 공단)은 29일 행정안전부가 시행하는 안전한국훈련의 일환으로 ‘2024년 재난대응 안전한국훈련’을 중저준위 방폐물 처분시설에서 실시했다.
공단에 따르면 이번 훈련은 중저준위 방폐장에서 지진 등에 따른 토사 무너짐, 시설물 피해 및 사상자 발생 상황을 가정해 실시하였으며 경주시, 경주소방서, 경주경찰서, 동국대학교 경주병원 등 10개 유관기관이 참여해 공단과 재난대응 협력체계를 집중점검 했다.
특히 훈련 전 과정에서 상용 통신망 등의 사용불능을 대비한 국가 재난안전통신망(PS-LTE)을 활용하여 공단 본사와 중저준위 방폐장 현장상황실 간 즉각적인 상황전파 및 보고를 통해 긴급통신수단의 가용성 및 활용성을 확보했다.
공단은 국가 재난안전통신망(PS-LTE)을 2022년도에 도입을 완료하였으며 2021년 공단 직원은 한국지능정보사회진흥원 주관 ‘재난안전통신망 서비스 아이디어 공모전’에서 ‘위성위치확인시스템(GPS) 및 사물인터넷(IoT)을 접목한 긴급 대피소 길잡이’를 제안해 일반부문 대상을 수상한 바 있다.
조성돈 한국원자력환경공단 이사장은 “16년 규모 5.8의 강력한 지진과 작년 11월 규모 4.0의 지진이 발생한 만큼 공단은 지진을 사전에 철저히 대비하고 재난상황 발생 시 신속한 대응 및 복구를 위해 유관기관 간 긴밀한 협조 체계를 공고히 하겠다.”고 말했다.
