시에 따르면 올해 공공비축미 및 시장격리곡 매입량 중 산물벼는 3089톤, 건조벼는 가루쌀과 시장격리곡을 포함해 6237톤이다. 이는 지난해 7295톤 대비 27% 이상 증가했다.
특히 올해 경주시는 가루쌀 매입을 처음 진행한다. 가루쌀은 전량 건조벼로 총 220톤을 매입한다.
매입은 각 읍면동 별로 지정된 장소에서 건조벼를 매입하며, 매입 품종은 건조벼는 삼광, 가루쌀은 바로미2이다.
매입 대금은 올해 상향 조정된 중간 정산금 4만원(40㎏ 포대 기준)을 수매 당일 우선 지급하고, 최종 정산은 수확기(10~12월) 전국 평균 산지 쌀값을 반영해 12월 중 매입 가격 확정 후 연말까지 지급한다.
한편 매입 품종이 아닌 벼를 출하한 농가는 향후 5년간 공공비축미 매입 대상에서 제외되는 만큼 매입 품종 외 다른 품종을 출하하지 않도록 농가의 각별한 주의가 요구된다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “어려운 쌀 생산 여건에도 고품질 쌀을 수확해 수매에 참여하시는 농업인들에게 감사를 드린다”라며 “작년보다 물량이 증가한 만큼 공공비축미 매입 준비에 철저를 기해 농가의 불편함이 없도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
