브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= 법원이 이재명 더불어민주당 대표의 공직선거법 위반 사건 1심 선고를 생중계하지 않기로 결정했다.
서울중앙지법 형사합의34부(부장판사 한성진)는 오는 15일 예정된 이재명 대표의 '공직선거법 위반 혐의' 선고 생중계 여부에 대해 "관련되는 법익들을 종합적으로 고려하여 판결선고 촬영·중계방송을 실시하지 않기로 했다"고 13일 밝혔다.
앞서 국민의힘측에선 "국민의 알 권리"를 강조하며 이재명 대표 재판에 대한 선고를 생중계해달라는 목소리를 내왔다. 이 대표가 차기 유력 대권주자인 만큼, 국민들이 그의 재판 과정을 지켜볼 수 있게 해달라는 취지다.
반면 야당측에선 제1야당 대표가 법정에 앉아 재판받는 모습을 중계하는 것은 인권침해적인 처사라는 주장을 내세우며 맞받아쳤다.
앞서 법원은 박근혜 전 대통령의 국정농단 혐의 사건과 이명박 전 대통령의 다스 사건은 1심 선고를 방송 중계했으나, 이번 재판이 전직 대통령들의 재판만큼 중대성이 있지 않다는 반론도 있었다.
또한 국민적 관심사가 높았던 비선실세 최서원(개명 전 최순실)씨와 이재용 삼성전자 회장의 재판 등에 대해서도 법원이 생중계를 불허한 전례를 보면, 이번 이 대표에 대한 선고 중계 역시도 가능성이 낮았다는 평가다.
한편 이재명 대표는 지난 20대 대선과정에서 있었던 방송사 인터뷰와 국정감사 등에서 대장동·백현동 개발사업 관련 의혹에 대해 허위 사실을 공표한 혐의로 재판에 넘겨졌다.

Court to Disallow Live Broadcast of Representative Lee Jae-myung's First Trial
The court has decided not to live broadcast the first trial sentencing of Democratic Party of Korea representative Lee Jae-myung's Public Official Election Act violation case.

Meanwhile, Representative Lee Jae-myung was brought to trial on charges of publishing false facts about suspicions related to the Daejang-dong and Baekhyeon-dong development projects during broadcast interviews and state audits during the 20th presidential election.
