[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군이 산림청이 주관한 ‘2024년 우리가 키운 우수조림지’ 평가에서 우수기관으로 선정됐다.

‘우리가 키운 우수조림지’ 평가는 조림사업의 품질 향상을 도모하기 위해 2019년부터 매년 시행되는 평가로 사업분야별 지방청 2개소와 지자체 2개소, 총 4개소를 우수사업지로 선정하고 있다.

올해는 산주직접조림과 천연갱신 분야를 대상으로 평가가 진행됐으며 거창군은 산주직접조림을 주제로 한 위천면 당산리 인근 편백과 잣나무 식재지로 평가에 참여했다.

이 지역은 산주의 지속적인 관심과 노력으로 1년생의 조림목이 현재는 벌기령에 도달해 목재수확이 가능할 정도로 생육 상태가 좋아 높은 평가를 받았다.

거창군의 산주직접조림 사업은 산주가 사업실행 전 과정에 참여해 본래 산림사업의 목적에 부합하고 사유림 경영을 활성화하는 모범사례로 전국의 지자체에서 주목하고 있다.
