[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 15일 거창 문화원에서 산불전문예방진화대, 산불감시원, 관계공무원 240여명이 참석한 가운데 2024년 가을철 및 2025년 봄철 산불 없는 거창을 위한 발대식을 개최했다.
이날 발대식은 군민의 생명과 재산을 산불로부터 보호하고 귀중한 산림을 지키겠다는 산불 감시·진화 인력 대표의 결의문 낭독과 전 읍면 산불담당자 간담회 및 안전보건교육 등 산불인력의 역량 강화를 위해 마련됐다.
산불감시원과 진화대는 지난 10월 각종 훈련과 장비 사용 교육 등 산불전문교육을 이수했으며 이를 통해 현장에서의 대응 능력을 갖췄다.
이들은 산불 고위험 지역 순찰 및 위험 요소 사전 제거, 화재 발생 시 초기 진화 작업에 투입된다.
군은 2023년 산불예방·대응 시군평가에서 ‘우수’ 기관으로 선정되며 2022년 ‘최우수’ 기관에 이어 2년 연속 선정되는 쾌거를 이루었다.
올해도 ‘산불발생 zero화’를 목표로 3년 연속 우수 평가를 달성하기 위해 적극적으로 노력할 예정이다.
구인모 거창군수는 “산불 예방과 진화 활동에 산불전문예방진화대원과 산불감시원의 역할이 매우 중요하다”며 “거창군의 소중한 자산인 산림의 보존을 위해 최선을 다해 주시기 바란다”고 말했다.
한편 군은 지난 2024년 11월 1일부터 2025년 5월 15일까지를 산불방지특별대책기간으로 정해 산불진화차량 및 장비 정비를 시작으로 현수막, 이장회보를 통한 산불예방 홍보활동, 무단 소각 행위 감시·단속 활동, 산림연접지 인화물질 제거 등 본격적인 산불 예방 및 대응 활동에 돌입했다.
또한, 영농부산물 소각 산불 방지를 위해 영농부산물 수거·파쇄팀을 운영하고 있어 파쇄 작업을 원하는 농가는 비닐, 끝 등의 쓰레기를 제거한 영농부산물을 미리 모아 두고 각 읍면사무소를 통해 신청하면 된다.
