【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 지난 19일 포항체육관에서 열린 ‘2024 경상북도 자원봉사대회’에서 자원봉사 우수시·군 부문 평가에서 우수상을 수상했다고 20일 밝혔다.

자원봉사자들의 노고를 격려하기 위해 매년 연말 경북도가 개최하는 경상북도 자원봉사대회는 올해는 포항체육관에서 진행됐다.
경상북도의 자원봉사 우수 시군 평가는 자원봉사 활성화와 역량 강화를 도모하기 위해 매년 실시되며, 자원봉사 참여도와 추진 실적 등 7개 세부 지표를 기준으로 우수 시군을 선정한다.
경주시는 올해 △일상 프로그램 △교육 프로그램 △지역 프로그램이라는 세 가지 분류를 통해 △잔반제로 V-캠페인 △V-컬러링북 △자원봉사 기본교육 △자원봉사 재능대학 등 다양한 프로그램을 운영하며 지역 자원봉사를 활성화했다.
특히 신규 프로그램인 △V-클린 캠페인을 통해 재난으로부터 경주시를 안전하게 지키는 한편, 자원봉사 활동으로 소외된 이웃과 경주를 방문하는 관광객의 편의를 위해 적극적으로 노력했다.
이 같은 자원봉사 활성화와 사회문제 해결을 위한 노력으로, 경주시는 작년 대상 수상에 이어 올해 우수상 수상의 영예를 안았다.
경주시는 우수상 외에도 △자원봉사 유공자 표창 부문에서 경주국립서라벌자원봉사단 고문 김광하 씨, (사)경주시종합자원봉사센터 자원봉사자 김현숙 씨, 한국전기안전공사 경주지사가 각각 수상했다.
이날 시상식에 참석한 박주섭 경주시 총무새마을과장은 “나눔과 봉사를 실천해 주신 자원봉사자들 덕분에 이 같은 큰 상을 받을 수 있었다”며 “경주시는 자원봉사자들이 안전하고 활발하게 활동할 수 있도록 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.

Gyeongju City Wins Excellence Award in Provincial Volunteer Competition

In addition to the Excellence Award, Gyeongju City also received awards in the △Volunteer Meritorious Service Award category, including Mr. Kim Gwang-ha, advisor of Gyeongju National Serabeol Volunteer Group, Ms. Kim Hyeon-suk, volunteer of Gyeongju City Comprehensive Volunteer Center, and Gyeongju Branch of Korea Electric Safety Corporation.
Park Joo-seop, head of the General Affairs and Saemaul Division of Gyeongju City, who attended the awards ceremony that day, said, “We were able to receive such a grand award thanks to the volunteers who practiced sharing and service,” and “Gyeongju City will spare no support so that volunteers can work safely and actively.”
