대전 5개 사립대학이 지난 5일 호텔 오노마 대전에서 지난 1년간의 대학혁신지원사업 성과를 공유하는 '2024 대학혁신지원사업(1, 3유형) 대전 지역 연합 성과공유회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 성과공유회는 배재대를 비롯해 한남대, 대전대, 목원대, 우송대가 대학혁신지원사업과 지방대학활성화사업 성과를 함께 나누는 장으로 마련됐다.
특히 광역자치단체로 고등교육 정책과 예산이 옮겨지는 RISE(라이즈·지역혁신 중심 대학지원체계)를 앞두고 대전시와 성과를 공유하면서 대학 간 협력방안도 모색하는 초석이 됐다.
이날 김헌영 RISE위원회 위원장의 ‘대학 혁신과 라이즈 체계’ 기조 강연을 시작으로 성과공유회가 시작됐다. 배재대는 유영진 대학교육혁신원 교수가 ‘대학교원의 AI 교육학(Pedagogy) 강화를 위한 PBL 수업 컨설팅 효과와 제한점’을 발표했다. 고지훈 광고사진영상학과 학생은 ‘마이크로디그리 교과목 연계 해회프로젝트 도쿄 트립’으로 대학 간 성과를 나눴다.
지난해부터 2년간 운영된 지방대학활성화사업은 내년부터 RISE(지역혁신 중심 대학지원체계)사업에 편입된다. 내년부터 전국 대학들의 재정 확보 구조가 대폭 바뀌면서 교육부가 보유했던 약 2조원의 대학재정지원 권한이 광역자치단체로 위임된다. 지자체는 재정지원을 바탕으로 지역발전 전략을 고려해 대학을 선별 지원하는 게 핵심이다.
지난 사업기간 동안 배재대는 대전시의 핵심 주력산업인 나노반도체, 우주항공국방, 바이오헬스, 문화콘텐츠 분야 총 14개 특성화학과에 대한 특성화 전문 교원 확보와 학사제도 및 교육과정 개편, 실험실 등 특성화 교육 기반 시설 개선으로 중도 탈락률과 재학생 충원율이 향상되는 성과를 거뒀다.
박석준 배재대 교무기획부총장(혁신지원사업단장)은 인사말을 통해 “이번 성과공유회는 대학 혁신 및 특성화 노력 결과를 대전지역 사립대학이 공유하면서 지속적인 협력을 논의하는데 의의가 있다”라며 “내년 RISE사업에서도 대전시와 관내 사립대학이 협업·소통하면서 상생 발전할 수 있는 ‘지역산업 친화적 정주형 실무인재양성’에 공동 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
