브레이크뉴스 정명훈 기자= '12·3 비상계엄 선포' 사태를 윤석열 대통령에게 건의하고 주도한 혐의를 받고 있는 김용현 전 국방부 장관은 10일 "영장실질심사(구속 전 피의자 심문)를 포기하겠다"고 밝혔다.
김용현 전 장관의 변호를 맡고 있는 법무법인 대륙아주 측은 이날 오전 기자들에게 보낸 입장문을 통해 "국민 여러분들께 큰 불안과 불편을 끼쳐드린 점, 깊이 사죄 드린다. 이번 사태와 관련한 모든 책임은 오직 저에게 있다"며 이같이 말했다.
이어 그는 "부하 장병들은 저의 명령과 주어진 임무에 충실했을 뿐"이라며 "부디 이들에게는 선처를 부탁드린다"고 말했다.
그러면서 "자유대한민국의 미래를 위해 기도해주시기 바란다"고 덧붙였다.
한편, 김 전 장관의 구속 여부를 결정하는 영장실질심사는 이날 오후 3시 서울중앙지법 남천규 영장전담 부장판사 심리로 열릴 예정이었다.
