브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 국토교통부는 10일 자동차 안전기준에 부적합한 자동차를 판매한 18개 제작·수입사에 과징금 117억3000만원을 부과했다고 밝혔다.
이번에 과징금이 부과된 곳은 △비엠더블유코리아㈜ △케이지모빌리티㈜ △혼다코리아㈜ △르노코리아㈜ △메르세데스벤츠코리아㈜ △테슬라코리아(유) △폭스바겐그룹코리아㈜ △스카니아코리아그룹㈜ △포드세일즈서비스코리아(유) △스텔란티스코리아㈜ △㈜재규어랜드로버코리아 △현대자동차㈜ △㈜바이크원 △기아㈜ △제이스모빌리티㈜ △㈜에프엠케이 △한솜바이크㈜ △㈜오토스원 등이다.
국토부는 2023년 7월부터 12월 말까지 자동차 안전기준에 부적합해 시정조치한 18개 제작·수입사에 대해 해당 자동차의 매출액, 시정률, 과징금 상한액 등 ‘자동차관리법’에서 정한 기준에 따라 과징금을 산정했다고 설명했다.
또한, 이번 조치 시 결함을 시정하지 않고 자동차를 판매한 △메르세데스벤츠코리아㈜ △스텔란티스코리아㈜ △㈜재규어랜드로버코리아 △폭스바겐그룹코리아㈜ △테슬라코리아(유) △포드세일즈서비스코리아(유) 등 6개 제작·수입사에 과징금 1억5000만원을, 판매 전 결함 시정조치한 사실을 구매자에게 고지하지 않은 르노코리아㈜에 과태료 500만원을 별도로 부과 처분했다.
국토부는 리콜 시정률 향상을 위해 시정률이 저조한 자동차 제작·수입사가 해당 차량 소유자에게 리콜 계획을 재통지하도록 하고 있다. 자동차리콜센터에서 리콜 정보 제공, 자동차 검사 시 운전자에게 리콜 대상 여부 안내, 주기적인 시정률 확인 등을 추진하고 있다.
